Milrinoon

The effect of milrinone on central and regional blood flow in preterm neonates undergoing patent ductus arteriosus ligation.
The study aims to describe pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of milrinone in neonates undergoing surgical closure of patent arterial duct. A complex central, regional and microvascular haemodynamic monitoring will be applied during the study period. Milronone dosing is modelled for this population based on the results of previous studies and milrinone plasma concentrations are measured in different time points. Based on aquired data, a PK-PD model of milrinone, describing the effect on central and regional haemodynamics according to the dose and plasma concentration, will be created .
We plan to enrole up to 30 neonates in the neonatal and paediatric intensive care units in Tallinn Children’s Hospital and Tartu University Hospital.
